My research broadly focuses on developing landscape planning solutions for biodiversity conservation. I completed my PhD at UQ where I looked at how human-driven landscape change influences bird populations, and more recently worked for the Queensland Government developing core biodiversity policy. I have joined Dr Richard Fuller’s lab to investigate how the ‘extinction of experience’—where people are having fewer and fewer experiences with nature—affects human wellbeing. The goal of this work is to develop urban landscape planning solutions that can help improve people’s access to nature-based experiences as well as enhance biodiversity conservation.
