David's research interests are centred on the interface between ecology and physiology, particularly how environmental stressors such as water availability, temperature, oxygen levels and salinity influence the ecology and distribution of animals. Of particular interest, is how the incubation environment influences the phenotype of oviparous animals, and the significance of these different phenotypes on the life history strategies of species. Also how temperature influences the energetic cost of development in ectothermic animals.
