My research examines how environmental variability affects marine organisms and ecosystems. I am presently focusing on the effects of sea-level rise in coastal ecosystems such as seagrass meadows and coral reefs, using field and modelling approaches. This interdisciplinary research is a component of the Australia Sea Level Rise Partnership (ASLRP). My other research interests include interactive effects among multiple human stressors on marine systems, carbon sequestration by coastal ecosystems (Blue Carbon), population dynamics of invasive species, larval ecology, and connectivity of marine populations. I am a member of Prof Peter Mumby's Marine Spatial Ecology Lab and associated with the Global Change Institute.
