My research has been moulded by international experiences of land degradation due to unsustainable logging, agricultural practices and mining activities. Whilst landscape and plant community rehabilitation remain my primary research focus, other areas that have emerged include:
- monitoring techniques to detect environmental change,
- utilising Unmanned Aerial Vehicles to address issues of scale,
- carbon sequestration,
- rainforest restoration, and
- the utility of reference sites for measuring rehabilitation success.
I work across a range of projects designing monitoring programs, rehabilitation strategies and completion criteria for restoration work.
