I completed my PhD in 2005 on the effects of prolonged starvation on gut structure and function in burrowing desert frogs that can go years between meals in time of drought. Since then I have worked as a post doc, and now as a Research Officer, in Prof. Craig Franklin’s ECO-lab. I contribute to and co-ordinate a number of projects within the laboratory including an ARC-funded study of how burrowing frogs resist muscle wasting while entombed below ground during drought, several projects on ion regulation in sharks and amphibian larvae and a collaborative project with DPI & F (NSW) looking at the capacity for small bodied fish to traverse man-made road crossings and culverts.
