Established in 2011, the prize is maintained by an annual gift from a fund donated by members of Laidley Masonic Lodge, and administered by the Bursary Committee of United Grand Lodge of Queensland.


An applicant is eligible for the prize if the applicant:
a. Have completed at least 16 units of a program offered by the Faculty of Science at Gatton Campus;
b. Are enrolled in a subsequent semester of a program offered by the Faculty of Science at Gatton Campus;
c. Have not previously been awarded the prize; and
d. Applies for the prize by the closing date for applications.

Selection criteria

Best personal statement submitted to the Associate Dean, by the closing date for applications, which addresses the following:
a. Involvement in community service;
b. Leadership potential; and
c. Integrity of character.

How to apply

Please complete all sections of the application form including signatures and ensure that supporting documentation is attached. Completed submissions are to be emailed to by 5:00pm (AEST) 18 August 2017. Incomplete and late applications will not be considered.

The Associate Dean may decide to interview short-listed applicants, and their determination will be considered final; no further communication will be entered into. All applicants will be notified in writing of the outcome of their application.
