Research Group Leaders

We work on formulating and solving biodiversity conservation problems. Lab members range from empirical ecologists to mathematicians and statisticians. Recent research successes include: producing the software that is rezoning Australia's entire ocean, a new theory of optimal monitoring, advances in spatial ecology, decision support tools for fire, weed and pest management, showing how null hypothesis testing is useless for conservation (thereby contradicting most of your formal university education) and decision support for setting global conservation priorities. We work with many non-government organisations and governments from around the world.
