Seeking enthusiastic volunteers to assist in matching photographic images of grey nurse sharks for a citizen science project. Grey Nurse Shark Watch is a citizen science research and monitoring project that uses photographic data submitted by divers, to assess population recovery of the critically endangered, east coast grey nurse shark population. As a long-term mark-recapture project, this data has the potentially to facilitate conservation management of the species and address some interesting questions about populations dynamics and movement ecology.

If you are interested please email me with your availabilities, preferably for the first three weeks following the mid-semester break (16th-20th, 23rd-27th April and 30th-4th May), so that I can organise a meeting with new volunteers to introduce you to GNSW and our initiatives and conduct some training on photo-Id image processing.

Volunteers will also have the opportunity to get involved with social media and community engagement and fundraising events with this conservation project.
