Hi there! I am a first class 2016 graduate from Royal Holloway, University of London, looking to gain some fieldwork experience during a working holiday to Queensland over the next few months/year.
Over the course of my studies I have completed various marine biology, ecology and conservation courses; ecological fieldwork, written academic reports, conducted my own research project and I am eager to finally put these skills to use in the field. For two years I wrote and edited articles for the student-led biological sciences magazine and since I published a blog I have started to launch a career in science communications. So far, I have worked in London as a researcher/content producer for a natural history podcast series and as a developmental researcher for a TV production company which specialises in wildlife filmmaking. It has produced programmes for the likes of Sky, National Geographic, Discovery and the BBC. I am determined to make a career out of my passion for wildlife and am forever looking to expand my knowledge of the natural world.
The Great Barrier Reef is on every zoologist's bucket list and it would be a privilege to help out with some research there, but I am equally drawn to terrestrial projects and I am not scared off by basic living conditions. The greater the challenge, the better! If you could do with an assistant who is conscientious, reliable and deeply enthusiastic about all things biological, please do not hesitate to get in contact with me. CV and gleaming references can be provided and I'm more than happy to discuss this further over skype or email. Alternatively, connect with me on LinkedIn.
All the best,Katy
